Set in the High Weald of East Sussex, Hill Cottage offers charming bed and breakfast accommodation in a 300 year old cottage located in a peaceful and wooded part of Crowborough.
Hill Cottage is one of the oldest houses in this quiet backwater of Crowborough, being one of only two properties shown on the Abergavenny Estate map of 1703. A country farm cottage, it is built of local sandstone with walls 18 inches thick, giving wonderful natural insulation - cool in the summer and heat retentive in winter, and has many heavy oak beams throughout the original building. It was extended about 100 years ago, which provided further first floor accommodation above what was originally a pig sty.
There is plenty of space for off road parking, not only to the front and side of the property, but also in the pub car park which guests are welcome to use.
